Back in July, Greg agreed to replace my parents old deck, thinking it would be a fairly easy project that would take 2 - 3 weeks at the most. Almost two months later, he FINALLY finished yesterday!! He has been spending most of his free time on the weekends and after work during the week (which isn't much time with his other jobs) working on this deck. It was a much larger project than either of us imagined it would be, but it turned out great. Greg had never done anything like this, except for the playset he built for Brayden a few months back. It was definitely a learning experience for him, and I think he is pretty impressed with himself. He built the railing piece by piece! All that is left is to touch up a few spots and put the decorative post tops on, and then eventually paint the deck in a few months. It's nice to know that when it comes time to replace our own deck, Greg will be able to do it himself. Now that he has finished, Greg doesn't know what to do with his free time, but I'm sure I can think of lots of projects and things to do around the house to keep him busy!
