We had a lot going on last week. It started last Friday when some of Greg's relatives from NY came down to stay with us for the night on their way to Myrtle Beach. On Tuesday, Brayden and I made a last minute trip down to Wilmington for the day to visit Catherine, Caroline & one of our old college roomates who was in town for the day. We met at the beach and got to enjoy the nice weather. Greg was working in the area that day, so he met us down there too. Brayden played in the sand for a few minutes, but he really enjoyed walking along the edge of the ocean. The water was COLD, but it didn't bother him one bit.
Our next big event was taking Brayden to his first Carolina Hurricanes hockey game on Saturday night. He didn't do to well though....thank goodness Greg's parents were there too to help us entertain him. We managed to stay until the middle of the third period of the game,so he held out for awhile. We'll try again next season and hopefully he'll do a little better. Finally, we celebrated Easter yesterday...the Easter bunny brought Brayden a basket of goodies, his favorite being a Barney Easter DVD. After church, there was an egg hunt for the children, and Brayden did much better this time (we practiced at home before we went :) ) He ended up with several eggs in his bucket! Afterwards, we had lunch with my family, which was a fun-filled, chaotic, eventful meal as usual! Brayden always has such a good time with his cousins. After doing so much last week, we are looking forward to getting back to normal and having a little quiet time this week!
Brayden had an Easter party at Mother's Morning Out on Wednesday, which was followed by an egg hunt. It was so cute to see all of the little ones hunting for eggs. Brayden didn't quite get the concept, but he still had a big time. He would find an egg, put it in his bucket, play with it and then throw it back on the ground and move on to the next one. Then he gave up altogether and went for the playground.
Thursday, we went up to Greg's parents house to stay the night because his relatives stopped there on their way back to NY. We enjoyed spending time with them and we even went in the pool on Friday. The water was definitely a little on the chilly side, but it was tolerable after a few minutes...we are looking forward to spending lots of time there this summer. Our next big event was taking Brayden to his first Carolina Hurricanes hockey game on Saturday night.
